Our Activities

Egglescliffe Community Centre as well as been a space for hire, we operate a number of sections ourselves. They are designed to allow easy access to activities for members of our community.

Book Room/Community Space

Community spaces was formerly known as the Warm Space. It was set up by the government during the cost of living crisis. The main aim was to provide a warm space for people who were struggling with the high energy costs.

Community Spaces are free, non-judgmental public places where people can go for shelter and avoid social isolation.

Our community space offers the following:

  • Comfortable space
  • Books – can be taken away with no need to return them
  • Jigsaws
  • WiFi
  • Refreshments (Tea/Coffee)
  • Biscuits

We have lovely, friendly volunteers who are always happy to have a chat. Many friendships have been made within our community space.

Our community space is open:

They perform two shows each year (a pantomime at the end of January and a summer musical at the end of June). They are a very friendly, down to earth and non-judgmental group of people who are here to support, build confidence and nurture the talents of all our members.

Centre Stage welcomes members of any age and experience from age 6 upwards and always do our best to ensure that anyone who wants to be on stage is able to do so.

Rehearsals take place on a Friday and Sunday evening

Cliffe Theatre

Cliffe Theatre is an amateur drama group which has been running for over thirty years.

The group’s first production, “Semi-Detached” by David Turner, was performed in March 1986 and since that time they have presented a variety of high quality drama for our local audience and beyond.

In addition to their main productions they also entered one-act play drama festivals and performed murder-mystery evenings to raise money for local charities.

The group is always happy to welcome new members, regardless of experience. If you are interested in being involved in our next production, either on stage or behind the scenes, please see their website.
